Gerald Dawavendewa (Hopi & Cherokee)
Momo flutters among flowers gathering pollen. Above the rain clouds, bees and butterflies symbolized as flowers announce the coming moisture. Among the flowers are petroglyphs depicting the bees migrations and rain clouds which bring life-giving water to a desert land. During the monsoon season, the desert is blessed with life-giving rains. These rains bring flowers which bees gather to. Bees pollinate not only plants that the Hopi people depend on, but they also provide honey.
